One of the things we love to do is work with our clients to design a piece for them.
This client is a van Gogh fan. After looking at our work on the Journey and this years ArtPrize piece we decided to create a piece inspired by van Gogh’s Wheat Field and Starry Night.
They also challenged us to create the wheat field out of the brass first. This incorporated a new technique using two types of grinding pads. Each wheat shoot is created by an individual grinding swipe. It is then primed and then painted 5 to 7 times.
What you can’t see is that when you walk by from right to left the piece begins to reveal more brass through the wheat field and crescendos at the far left side.
Stop by and see us soon at the Breton Village Mall and we can create a piece for you.
